S h i g r a (shé-graa) is a hand-woven bag made from a fiber found in the cabuya tree (Agave). This unique Andean textile has been used for centuries by indigenous people in the highlands of Ecuador to carry fresh fruits and vegetables.
This colorful bag bonds quality textile traditions with the craft of selecting and carrying home the freshest produce available in the local marketplace.
Inspired by this tradition, we at Shégraa source the best fruit and vegetables from small farms.
It is simple indeed and where the “magic” begins.
Our two processing plants are strategically located near farms that supply only selected and freshly harvested products.
Here we crisps them to perfection, applying rigorous quality controls and using the latest frying technology.
